Sensitization Forum in Chesinende Girls High School – Kericho

In the sidelines of a stakeholder’s forum in Chepseon, Kericho County. The DLS Foundation, Founding Director MS. Daisy Kosgey, conducted sensitization session with the girls of Chesinende Girls High School.

The Girls in the Extra-County School with student population drawn majorly from Kericho County and the nearby counties of Nakuru, Bomet, Nyandarua, Kisii, Kisumu and Narok among others were excited to learn a thing on various topics including; reproductive health, girlhood, effects of teenage pregnancies and child marriages,

Sister’s Keeper Club Consultative Forum in Chepseon

In an effort to sustain the ‘Motherhood Waits’ campaigns in Chepseon Location of Kericho County, the Dear Little Sister Foundation Founding Director Ms. Daisy Kosgey, on 2nd February 2024, held a consultative forum with the Foundation’s stakeholders to forge a way forward on running of Sister Keeper Clubs in Secondary Schools in the Region.

The Sister’s Keeper clubs are aimed at building accountability and positive peer influence amongst school girls in the fight against teenage pregnancy, child marriage and related teenage challenges.

DLSF Conducts Sensitization in Bungoma County

13th December 2023

Dear Little Sister Foundation held a sensitization Forum for youths; both boys and girls aged between 13 and 21 years in Partnership with Rhema Church in Bungoma Town, Bungoma County.

During the forum, the youths received teachings on various topics from DLSF trainers. The topics included Purposeful Living, Observing Integrity in Life and Managing Peer pressure.

In addition, a detailed session on Teenage Pregnancy and Early Marriages; Causes and Effects was conducted by our Founder MS.

Right to Be A Girl Project in Kericho County

The Foundation with the Support of our Partner; Mundo Cooperante, conducted the Right to be A girl project in Kericho County. The project entailed sensitization of girls on the dangers of teenage pregnancy and child marriage, importance of girls’ education and menstrual hygiene. Further, parents, community leaders and administration officers as well as teachers were sensitized on the best ways to support girls education while breaking the silence on challenges facing girls by preventing and reporting to deter occurrences.

Doing what we do best for generational impact! Our Founding Director led a Sensitization forum in Chepseon Complex High School to enlighten the students on the dangers of Teenage Pregnancies and Child Marriages. 

The Director was accompanied by the Foundation’s Research and Strategy Volunteer, Mr. Job Mugiira, who conducted a step by step analysis of various legal provisions that protect the students and accord them rights especially that of Education and Protection since they are still children. 

DLSF Conducts Girls’ Sensitization in Labotiet – Bomet County

This was BIG! Labotiet – Siongiroi , Bomet County

The DLSF reached out to 206 teenagers, teenage mothers and community leaders. Speaking at the event, the DLSF Founder Ms. Daisy Kosgey sensitized the girls on negative effects of teenage pregnancies including; dropping out of school, poor health of the young mothers, lack of basic needs, poverty and the vicious cycle where babies born of teens may end up as teen mothers.

DLSF Sensitizes Girls and Parents in Kipkelion East

The DLSF Team joined our founding Director Daisy Kosgey who was the chief guest at an Educational Forum held at the Chepseon Vocational Training Centre organized by the Chepseon Kiptenden Education Empowerment Group. DLSF was a partner in convening the event.

The audience in the forum were students in various levels from Primary School to University together with their parents and other community leaders. The audience was drawn from the Chepseon and Sabunit Locations of Kipkelion East Sub-County of Kericho County.

DLSF Resumes Face to Face Forums

Founded in 2017 in Kenya, the Dear Little Sister Foundation (DLSF) aims to rescue girls from the menace of Teenage Pregnancies and resultant early marriages. The background behind the foundation was from firsthand experience of the negative effects of Teenage Pregnancies around the Communities living in Kericho County, Kenya.  From the year 2008, the founder MS. Daisy Kosgey was documenting the experiences and occurrences occasioned by teenage pregnancies within her Kalenjin community through her book (https://www.dearlittlesisters.org/the-book/) titled ‘Dear Little Sister’ which was officially published and launched in June 2018.
